My 2nd on Day 2
I am a self professed Foodie ! I love trying new foods, restaurants and recipes so of course they will be included on my list of 101 things in 1001 days. Yesterday afternoon I was running a few errands at lunch and planned on eating leftovers when I got back to the office. I was sitting at a busy intersection waiting for an opportunity to dart across when I looked up and saw a colorful little hole in the wall advertising Fresh Mex. Well I have been on a quest for some kick butt Chicken Nachos ever since our October trip to to Maryland. I was so tempted to blow off my errands and go check it out but I was a good girl and went to do errands however I did return for a to go order of Chicken Nachos. Now let me tell you all I want on my chicken nachos is seasoned chicken, melted cheese with a side of guacamole and salsa. They were pretty good at this little hole in the wall and so was the guacamole, it needed a little garlic and lime but not too bad at all. As I sat there waiting for to go order I perused the restaurant and my germaphobia really kicked in, doubt I will return. # 2 on my list Lunch at Mateo's.

Challenge and Purpose
I am challenging all my family and friends, aqquaintances and complete strangers to set a goal to try 101 new things in 1001 days. As 2010 fast approaches I realize it is time to start living again not just existing.
I do not set New Year Resolutions, I believe that we should try to improve our lives and grow everyday and realalistically most New Year Resolutions fail miserably or are completely forgotten with a few weeks. I really know of only one truly successful New Year's Resolution and that was my niece Breeanna in her early teens gave up soda for a complete year. Most people opt for the standard, save money, get organized, lose weight, stop smoking blah, blah, blah. All of these things take comitment and continous work and if/when you fail, you should not wait until the New Year to try again.
In the past I have done some pretty amazing things, Skydive, travel to Hawaii with my 12 year daughter, cook an amazing Jambaylaya my 1st Valentines Day with Scott even though I had never tried it before, snorkle within feet of a shark . However due to shortage of funds related to a forced job change, I have fallen into a rut. I go to work, come home cook dinner, do dishes, laundry and blah, blah, blah. At times, my life appears to be a little depressing, until I turn on Lifetime or the nightly news and realized my life isn't depressing, it's just boring.
I read somewhere recently where someone was doing 101 new things in 1001 days and it woke me up to all the new things I still wanted to do. So starting right now, right here I am going to start.......I want to try 101 new things in the next 1001 days!!! That means I have until September 23, 2012 to try 101 new things. I have a few in mind but this is not a Bucket List, I have a mental list of a few things but there is no hard copy of 101 things I want to try. I would like to try Polenta, go on a hot air ballon, get Rachel Ray's autograph..no meet her. I know the next few days I will be busy getting caught up at work and packing for my trip to PA and Washington DC, been to both places but on January 4th I will be at my father in laws burial at Arlington which will be a first, been to Arlington in 2004 but not at a service.
I hope I inspire many of you to try start living a little bit more.
